Flying B Ranch

The Flying B Ranch is located on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River, 38 air miles southwest of Salmon, Idaho within the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness Area.  With its own hydroelectric power plant, the Flying B is able to power our lodge and 9 cabins with modern amenities including hot showers and flush toilets. The Flying B also has its own private 2500-foot grass airstrip.  This Ranch can accommodate 40 guests and has a staff of 7-10 employees to help make your stay enjoyable & memorable. At an elevation of 3600 feet, the Flying B has a number of activities for you to enjoy, including fishing, horseback riding, hunting or just relaxing.

Root Ranch

The Root Ranch is located at an elevation of 5600-feet, 48 airmiles west of Salmon, Idaho in the heart of the Frank Church Wilderness Area. The 2100-foot airstrip is encircled by an idyllic meadow of mountain wildflowers.  Accommodations include four bunkhouse-style cabins with hot showers, and a lodge equipped with a spacious kitchen. Meals are served family-style in a casual dining room. Located off the dining room, is a cozy outdoor deck frequented by hummingbirds. Perfect for relaxing after a long summer day, the spacious deck provides guests with a unspoiled view of the local wildlife: deer, elk, moose, and the occasional wolf. Exploration of the wilderness surrounding the Root Ranch by horseback or a day hike is an escape from the fast-paced real world to a natural setting where time is suspended, and the opportunity for adventure with family or friends is boundless.
